VIVEbiotech at the UPV/EHU Courses
The Scientific Director of VIVEbiotech, Juan Carlos Ramírez, delivered a lecture during the Summer Courses of the University of the Basque Country under the title ‘Rare Diseases: a global challenge for the healthcare system’
The aim of the talk was to define the main healthcare challenges affecting Rare Diseases from the perspective of professionals; to outline the issue of clinical and epidemiological quantification and monitoring of these conditions; to gather opinions on the topic from the perspective of those affected; to analyze and compare the outcomes of strategies implemented in other countries; and to address the sustainability challenges faced by the healthcare system with the arrival of new treatments for these diseases.
