VIVEbiotech organizes the 2nd Symposium on Gene‑Editing Tools

VIVEbiotech organizes the 2nd Symposium on New Gene‑Editing Tools.

This edition, which will be held next November 11 in Madrid, will focus on strategies and applications, as in recent years there has been a substantial increase in the use of CRISPR-Cas tools, which have successfully become established in virtually all areas of biology and biomedicine.

New uses, innovative applications, and highly useful techniques for functional genomic analysis have emerged, all of them directly or indirectly relying on one of the many variants of CRISPR‑Cas technology.

This second symposium will focus on discussing the various applications of CRISPR‑Cas tools, as well as other editing nucleases, currently being implemented in several laboratories across the country—both in basic research laboratories and in applied, more translational research units. In the latter case, the focus is on developing new experimental therapies using cellular and animal models, with the aim of eventually translating them to patients.

Juan Carlos Ramírez (VIVEbiotech), José Carlos Segovia (Unidad de Diferenciación y Citometría / División de Terapias Innovadoras en el Sistema Hematopoyético / CIEMAT / CIBERER‑ISCIII – IIS Fundación Jiménez Díaz), and Lluís Montoliu (Centro Nacional de Biotecnología‑CSIC / CIBERER‑ISCIII) are organizing this event, which will take place at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología‑CSIC in Madrid.
