The Commission of Economic Promotion of the General Councils of Gipuzkoa visited the facilities of VIVEbiotech. Throughout the visit, the Commission was able to learn about the production process and development of the lentiviral vectors that VIVEbiotech manufactures contributing to the treatment of diseases of genetic origin such as many of the rare diseases, as well as cancer.

The meeting was attended by the chairman of the committee, Mª Ángeles Lazkano (EA-NV), as well as Lander Ugartemendía (EA-NV), Marije Zelaia (EA-NV), Jabier Altuna (EA-NV), Judit García (EH Bildu), Mª Jesús Egido (PSE-EE), Mikel Arrizabalaga (PSE-EE), Juan Carlos Cano (PP) and Mónica Mora (Podemos).

The delegation was received by Gurutz Linazasoro, CEO of VIVEbiotech, José Manuel Franco, COO, Juan Carlos Ramírez, CSO/CTO, Natalia Elizalde, CBO, and Maider Goyena, CFO, of the company.

VIVEbiotech currently has a laboratory equipped with the latest technology in which it produces lentiviral vectors and develops proprietary technologies such as Lentisoma. The company plans to multiply its production capacity by the end of 2019 in order to attend more clinical trials.
