Your role
We are looking for a USP Development Scientist reporting directly to the USP Development Manager.
Your mission will be to participate in the design and execution of the USP development projects required for the fulfillment of the company’s development plan and sale plan. In addition, you will help to meet the established objectives and propose, in collaboration with the head of USP Development, appropriate scientific strategies to respond to the strategic objectives of the company and our customers.
On the other hand, you will be in charge of generating and disseminating in the company the most advanced technical knowledge on technologies applicable to the production of bioproducts, collaborating with the different departments.
Your responsibilities
- Implement new ideas in collaboration with scientists and USP Development Manager, proposing ideas and reporting incidents, in order to continuously optimize the production process.
- Manufacture the assigned phases of the customer development and internal development batches in accordance with the established requirements.
- Fine-tuning of the new equipment acquired for the development of new processes or new production scales, ensuring its correct documentation and transferability to the operational departments
- Actively collaborate for the optimal use of resources and materials (continuous improvement, cost/effectiveness) to offer technological solutions to the problems defined in the development plan, sales plan and financial objectives of VIVEbiotech.
- Work as a team to execute the work necessary to carry out the projects correctly and within the required timeframe.
- Keep the results obtained documented to guarantee their traceability and the correct transfer and implementation of the solutions developed.
- Proactively give ideas for continuous improvement cost/effectiveness related to their knowledge, experience and execution of their role in order to collaborate in achieving the objectives of your entire team or section.
- Report to your direct manager any outstanding incident that affects the smooth running of your activity or the activity of your team or section.
About you
- You have at least 2 years of previous experience in the role and in the functions described.
- You have university studies related to Virology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biological Engineering or Chemistry.
- You have knowledge of bioprocess techniques and USP systems.
- Related Master’s studies are an asset
- You have a high level of English (at least B2)
- You demonstrate the ability to propose possible process improvements.
- You have a high capacity for teamwork and orientation to results.
- You are an organized person, with a focus on Planning and Management by objectives
- Residence in Gipuzkoa (or intention to move to the area) will be positively valued
